Record Turnout along with the N86, N97 and E75

Last night’s S60 meet up was a great success. Nearly 20 members of the S60 community came out. Chanse Arrington and his magical bag of phones also attended. We got a chance to play with prototypes of the N86 and N97.
N86 Impressions: Love the buttons. They are easy to feel and give a great response when clicked. I didn’t love the d-pad. Many of the buttons there were resistive touch. They will hopefully be better on the production model. The flash was impressive. The 3rd gen LED or whatever they are calling it seems to do a great job and Chanse confidently said it will be the best camera phone they ever made, even the N82.
N97: Most of what I am going to say has already been covered over at Mobile World Innovation from last months meet up. I will say that the software in this prototype is improving by leaps and bounds! Much more stable and feature complete. If they still hope to get the 1st half of 2009 release date then they are on the right track.
